WATER FILTERS TO PROVIDE 1 MILLION GALLONS OF CLEAN DRINKING WATER FOR 25,000 FAMILIES IN KENYA

ROCKWALL, Texas – April 5, 2022 – To provide clean and safe drinking water for families in Kibera, Kenya, The Bucket Ministry is hosting a world record-setting event to assemble 25,000 water filters at The Bucket Ministry World Headquarters on May 7. The Dallas, Fort Worth community is invited to join in this local effort that will make a global impact.

The World Record Filter Assembly Event kicks off at 9:00 a.m. CST and ends at 5:00 p.m. CST. Each filter assembled will provide an entire family with over 20 years of clean drinking water – equating to more than 1 million gallons of water.

THE IMPACT OF THIS WORK WILL BE FELT FOR GENERATIONS.

The Sawyer PointONE™ filters use technology that was originally developed for kidney dialysis. Each filter allows water to enter through the tiny pores of the membrane, leaving behind harmful bacteria that can cause Cholera, Typhoid and E. coli. The filters fit buckets that carry five gallons of water and can last over 20 years. The level of filtration provided by the Sawyer PointONE™ filters exceeds EPA standards for drinking water in the United States.

“The work we do at this event has the potential to radically change the lives of one in every ten people living in one of the largest slums in the world,” said Christopher Beth, director of The Bucket Ministry. “The impact of this work will be felt for generations.”

Mosquitos are nasty creatures. They bite, they transmit terrible diseases to people and pets, and from what I read, they have absolutely no redeeming value in the ecosystem.
