A summary of life in Asheville after Hurricane Helene tore through.
Odyssa
Jennifer Pharr Davis is a long-distance trailblazer who has covered over 14,000 miles of long trails on six different continents. In 2011, she set the overall FKT on the Appalachian Trail by completing the 2,190 footpath in 46 Day (an average of 47 miles per day). As a mom Jennifer has backpacked 700 miles in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy, walked across the state of North Carolina while nursing her son, and explored trails in all fifty states with her daughter.
Off-trail, Jennifer is an author, speaker, and entrepreneur. In 2023, she sold her business and went back to school for a Masters in Public Affairs. Jennifer now uses her 'outside voice' to advocate for common ground through conservation efforts and political and cultural bridging initiatives. Jennifer is a past member of the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, and a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. She has partnered with Sawyer to bring clean water to remote villages in Fiji and to hard hit areas of Western North Carolina in response to Hurricane Helene.
