Below are a few highlights of some recent and on-going international water projects
Liberia
With non-profit partner The Last Well, the first ever border to border clean water project was completed and the entire country of Liberia now has access to clean water. This was accomplished through a variety of methods, including over 130,000 Sawyer filters. GIS data was collected on over 100,000 families that received filters. Diarrhea incidents in kids saw an overall reduction of 94.2%.
Egypt
20,000 families in Egypt will soon have Sawyer Tap Filters in their homes where water is plumbed to their house, but it is not safe to drink.
Marshall Islands
We are 4,000 filters away from completing our next border to border clean water effort. Every home in the Marshall Islands will have a Sawyer filter.
Fiji
Through non-profit Give Clean Water, we are working with the Ministry of Health and the Fiji Water Authority to bring solutions the rest of the rural communities in Fiji that still lack access to clean water.
First Nations
Sawyer is working with Healthy First Nations to bring clean water to tribes in the Great Lakes Region where boil alerts are a regular occurrence and treatment plants are not feasible.
