Pakistan Floods Revisited
The Pakistan floods of 2010 is one of the greatest humanitarian crises the world has seen; the Pakistan floods devastated the country, affecting 20 million people, destroying 12 million homes, and submerging one-fifth of the country. One of the most disastrous effects of the floods was people contracting waterborne diseases from drinking contaminated water. In response, Waves For Water, an organization that works on the front-line to provide clean water to communities around the world, took on the Pakistan Project, committing to provide the Pakistani flood victims with clean drinking water by providing them with Sawyer water filters. Waves For Water has provided clean water for more than 60,000 people in Pakistan and empowered them with the fundamental right of pure drinking water.
